Lavender Ameraucanas

Our birds originate from Paul Smith in Texas. Their correct color type is called self-blue, commonly known as lavender. This breed is known for it's pure blue eggs, beautiful muffs and beards, as well as its calm, friendly demeanor. Hens are productive layers, averaging 250 eggs per year. We have found this breed to have wonderful maternal instincts- a valuable asset to any homestead striving for sustainability. Cockbirds are attentive, caring and gentle.

We will be offering a limited amount of hatching eggs for local pick up.

Eggs set for 02-03-22 resulted in 100% hatch rate.

Hatching eggs are collected fresh and kept safe, laying pointed end down in a cool location (not refrigerated). We do have a few black split to lavender hens, so black splits are possible. Each egg will be inspected for hairline cracks prior to being packed. We do not wash our eggs to protect their natural bloom.  We do not guarantee hatch rate, since there are too many factors that are out of our control.
